PC World Recognition

I was actually surprised to run across an article from PC World, which is mostly a Microsoft information site, post an article about dual booting Windows XP and Ubuntu on a PC. The article, like many other articles from PC World was well written and easy to follow. A lot of good information for those of you wanting to install Ubuntu without killing Windows on your machine.

You know Ubuntu is on its way when you read articles from big time PC news sources (at least PC World is pretty popular in the US). I know they have written Linux and Ubuntu articles in the past, but actually writing a how to is new to me from them.

Santa delivers Ubuntu

After a massive attack at some documentation today, I finally got around to a break where I got to read some Google news. I inputed Ubuntu and came up with some exciting news this evening, now morning. One of the articles I will do a write up on for the Fridge here in a bit. The other, damn close to Fridge worthy, and could possibly be, but I just couldn’t wait. It seems that Santa has come early this year however his sack is not filled with stuffed animals, dolls, or choo-choo trains. No, not at all. Instead Santa is delivering Ubuntu, Christmas style!

Ubuntu Christmas Edition is a joyfully fun distribution. Myself not being a GNOME afficianado actually took a liking to it. Why? I guess the festive feel overwhelmed me, and also because the latest daily of Ubuntu Feisty unmounts my CD-ROM at the “Checking CD-ROM” section. As I am writing this, I am looking at [!!] Detect and mount CD-ROM. On the other hand I am also looking at a wonderful Christmasy felling wallpaper as well. Screenshots are here.

Here is wishing you and yours a very happy holidays.

And just so I don’t forget those of you who celebrate a different holiday this time of year.

MERRY CHRISTMAHANAKWANZAKA!

Coming to you live from…

nixternal.com! Finally, I have went ahead and purchased my own domain. Ya ya no big deal right? It isn’t, but with the offer that Matthew East proposed this past weekend, I couldn’t resist. Plus I had a few extra bucks sitting in a stale PayPal account.

Joey Stanford! Thanks for all of the fish brother, and if there is ever anything I can do to help you, I would be more than glad to do so! I owe you big time for letting me Ubuntu Rock it with you. By the way, how in the hell do you grow rocks again ๐Ÿ™‚

Plans for this week and the following:

Until next time…
